FAQs

Quick answers, to real questions.

What makes Mako different from other mushroom brands?

We’re people who are genuinely serious about what we take ourselves.

That means no fillers, no flavouring, and no formulations designed to chase a quick “hit”. We use 100% fruiting body extracts, made in the UK, with a dual extraction process, and we keep everything intentionally simple.

But the real difference is restraint. Mako is designed for clarity, consistency, and long-term use — not overstimulation. Something you can take every day and trust.

What are the benefits of functional mushroom tinctures?

Functional mushrooms are a group of mushrooms that offer benefits beyond their nutritional value.

They contain bioactive compounds that have been studied for a range of supportive effects — including helping to support immune function, reduce inflammation, and support cognitive performance.

Can I take these with coffee or tea?

Yes. Many people add their tincture to water, tea or coffee.

Just avoid boiling hot drinks, as very high heat can reduce some beneficial compounds.

Can I take this supplement while pregnant?

There currently isn’t enough evidence to say whether mushroom supplements are safe to use during pregnancy.

We’d advise speaking with your GP or midwife before taking any supplements while pregnant.
